Weekly In-Store Conditions Report
On March 1, Crespo Organic will launch a new weekly in-store conditions report, available exclusively to Crespo Organic mango customers through the exclusive weekly distribution list or directly via the Crespo Organic sales team. Rooted in Crespo’s signature Mango-Ed approach—teaching, sharing, and learning together within the direct-trade systems their program is built on—the report reflects the partnerships in which the Crespo program thrives.
It is designed to reinforce that this is not just a box of fruit, as is often the case with brokered labels built by shielding the farmers and the full supply chain. This report tracks specifically how the Crespo Organic fruit moves, performs, and should be handled across the USA, serving as a diagnostic and decision-support tool informed by cross-regional input from Crespo’s wholesale and retail partners to help produce teams assess, merchandise, and respond to real-world Crespo mango conditions at the store level.
While the Under the Mango Tree weekly CROP REPORT explains conditions at origin, this in-store conditions report focuses on how fruit is presenting after transit, storage, and handling across different systems. It acknowledges that there are many variables between orchard and store — including time, temperature, and lane-specific challenges — while capturing the broader patterns being observed once mangoes are on the sales floor.
By identifying consistent patterns observed across stores nationwide—despite differences in logistical temperatures, time in system, and store operations—it helps produce teams working with the Crespo Organic mango brand make practical decisions around display, rotation, staging, and customer communication based on what is actually happening on the floor, capturing real-time sales floor behavior to adjust merchandising and messaging accordingly.
How It Works
The weekly in-store conditions report is a short, decision-support tool designed to email and print easily and to be used quickly.
- Built for use in under one minute
• Usable in the back room, on the sales floor, or at a desk
• Focused on interpretation, not declarations (“if you’re seeing X, do Y”)
• Grounded in observable cues: firmness, aroma, skin behavior, movement rate
• Written in careful, truth-safe language
• Avoids promises about uniformity or peak flavor
The report exists to support better real-time decisions once Crespo Organic mangoes are already in the store.
- Helps reduce shrink, mishandling, and mis-selling caused by variability
• Does not attempt to eliminate variability
• Protects the Crespo eating experience without overstating control beyond the packhouse
• Operates downstream at shelf level
• Designed to complement, not replace, weekly crop reports
Who it serves:
- Sales teams selling into retail, supporting accounts with real-time, store-level guidance
• Produce managers and back-room leads handling fruit daily
• Store staff answering shopper questions and influencing conversion
• Crespo sales teams, by reducing friction, claims, and reactive problem-solving
Important context:
- Variability will always exist
• Storage history is often unknown
• Ripening has already diverged by store
This report provides a shared, program-specific framework for responding to those realities consistently across the Crespo Organic mango program.
Got questions?
With the launch of this seasonal weekly report, Crespo Organic is also introducing a dedicated mango hotline for questions, comments, or issues as they arise. Like any good hotline, it serves as a direct channel for sharing information and solving problems quickly, helping keep communication clear and responsive across the Crespo program.
🥭☎️ HotlineMangoes@CrespoOrganic.com
When that mango hotline blings, we answer sweet things.
